Sofie Mendez can’t touch the crossbar. She loves playing goalie, but after losing an elite club soccer tournament, her team blames it all on her 5’0” stature. She realizes it doesn’t matter how much she loves being in the net or how good her other skills are. The reality is that a goalie who can’t reach the crossbar really isn’t good for anything, so upon signing up for her debut season at J.Price high school, she decides to become a defender instead.
However, once she meets the team, Sofie quickly learns that J.Price is severely lacking in numbers and desperately needs a goalie. Throughout the start of the season, Sofie fights with herself. Is the unwavering support and friendship of her new teammates enough to convince her to put her goalie gloves on again, or will she keep her secret locked away, unable to beat the shame of her old team?
